The gasoline you will be using as fuel for your mini-cultivator should be transported in a designated portable gasoline can.
The storage of gasoline in a plastic gas canister is prohibited under the Fire Services Act and highly hazardous in japan.
When storing kerosene in a plastic gas canister …
- The canister could dissolve and leak due to exposure to cer
tain components of the gasoline.
- A plastic canister is prone to generating static electricity,
which could then cause the gasoline to ignite when pouring
fuel or closing the canister.
- Since the canister is not very airtight, gasoline fumes could
leak from the gas cap or other opening.
- Since gasoline fumes are heavier than ambient air, it will
tend to collect in low-lying areas without dispersing and
could ignite in an unexpected setting.
- Gasoline can be mistaken for kerosene under these conditions
and poured into a stove or other such appliance, thereby
causing a fire.
*A user cannot fill a canister with gasoline on his or her own
at a self-serve gas station.
